The President of the Arab Parliament H.E. Mohamed bin Ahmed Alyammahi praised the enlightenment and intellectual role of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif which provides hundreds of lectures and intellectual, awareness-raising and religious forums to its arrivals from all countries of the world, and commended the overseas tours of His Eminence the Grand Imam Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, Sheikh Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and his meetings with several top international officials, stressing that these tours and meetings significantly contribute to spreading the true image of Islam, promoting intercultural dialogue, consolidating the values of tolerance and shedding light on common humanitarian challenges.

This came during the meeting of the President of the Arab Parliament with His Eminence the Grand Imam Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, Sheikh Al-Azhar Al-Sharif at Al-Azhar headquarters in Cairo, to discuss ways of cooperation between Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and the Arab Parliament in all fields, including promoting awareness among youth, preserving their Arab identity and immunizing them against extremist ideology, and supporting women.

During the meeting, the President of the Arab Parliament praised the role of His Eminence the Grand Imam in defending all Arab and Islamic issues, primarily the Palestinian question and championing the Palestinian people in all international forums, notably in the light of the genocide and brutal massacres they are subjected to for more than fifteen months that history has never known.

The President of the Arab Parliament also valued the special attention that His Eminence the Grand Imam attaches to promote the teaching of Arabic language at all educational levels, from being the key weapon for preserving Arab cultural identity against unrelated phenomena on our Arab societies.

From his side, His Eminence the Grand Imam Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, Sheikh Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, emphasized the importance of solidarity and integration among Arab and Islamic countries to respond to the crises we are facing, eliminate division and discord, and prevail the sense of Arab and Islamic unity over the challenges faced by our Arab world foremost among which is the ongoing terrorist aggression against the innocents in Gaza for more than fifteen months.
